An extraordinary event calls for an extraordinary initiative. From June 3 to September 8, 2024, Orange will allow all its 4G consumer and business customers to use its 5G network without additional cost(1). The aim of this approach is to allow all Orange customers to enjoy a smoother connection during the Paris 2024 Games.

With Orange 5G, customers will benefit from a faster and more reliable mobile network. They'll be able to follow Paris 2024 Olympic events live and in HD on their mobile, share their emotions on social media, and download content in seconds! What’s more, 5G is 10 times more energy-efficient than previous technologies and will help to relieve congestion on the 4G network in the busiest locations.

An unprecedented operation, without additional cost, and with no change of plan

We will begin to inform our customers about this via text message(2). This access can be deactivated at any time via the customer area or by contacting the customer service team. No action is required at the end of the operation.

“Over more than 20 years, Orange has gained unique and unprecedented expertise in connectivity at major events. As a Premium Partner and Official Supplier of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Orange is connecting the Games with an exceptional infrastructure. All our teams are mobilized to ensure that as many people as possible enjoy an unforgettable experience. Connectivity and services are the foundation of these Games.  So for the first time and on an exclusive basis, we've decided to extend the benefits of 5G free of charge to all our customers with a 4G plan who have a 5G capable mobile." says Jean-François Fallacher, CEO of Orange France.

(1) Consumer: all Orange and Sosh consumer mobile customers with a 4G plan (excluding Mobicarte prepaid offers, LetsGo plans, as well as customers with existing 5G plans). Orange and Sosh customers will be able to use the 5G network, provided they have a 5G-compatible phone.
Pro/SME: all Pro/SME customers with a 4G Performance Pro, Performance Entreprise or Open Pro plan. Pro/SME customers will be able to use the 5G network, provided they have a 5G-compatible phone.
(2) Customers who have agreed to share their smartphone model with Orange will automatically receive free access to 5G. Customers who have not shared their model must register. If the customer's mobile is 5G compatible, their registration will be validated and access will be enabled before mid-July.
